Produced in Gironde, the wines of Bordeaux have a solid reputation thanks in particular to their geographical location and its particular geology. On the side of the left bank of the Garonne, alluvium (gravel from the Pyrenees, source of the Garonne) drains and heats the land: ideal for producing exceptional vines. Médoc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pessacs are all great types of Bordeaux wines drawn on the left bank. The right bank, for its part, gives rise to a completely different type of terroir. With very calcareous rock and deep soils, the region produces a quality Merlot.
