Le Petit Caillou is a wine of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou.
It is made from a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a small touch of Cabernet Franc. It is an elegant and silky wine with a nice balance. It can be aged for 5 years in the cellar so that the tannins melt completely.
Petit Caillou is a wine made from a few declassified parcels of the famous Château Ducru-Beaucaillou in Saint-Julien. These parcels with gravel soils are no longer part of the "Grand Cru Classé" but are still in the Saint-Julien appellation.
The manual harvest is followed by fermentation in vats and maturation in new oak barrels.
