Clos Fourtet 1983, Premier Grand Cru Classé, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru - 0,75L
This powerful and racy wine is very pleasant in the mouth. The tannins are perfectly melted due to the great age of this vintage which can still age for a few years.
Clos Fourtet is located in Saint-Emilion, on the famous limestone plateau of the appellation.
The Clos Fourtet vineyard represents 18 hectares of which 85% are merlot, 10% cabernet sauvignon and 5% cabernet franc. Bought in 2001 by the Cuvelier family, the vineyard has been redesigned and modernized with the help of the famous Bordeaux consultant, Stéphane Derenoncourt.
The vineyard is progressively moving towards an organic culture of the vines and also a biodynamic culture.
The wines of Clos Fourtet are very fruity, with a beautiful balance and a remarkable suppleness in the mouth.
