Château Tertre Roteboeuf 2005, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru - 3L

€2,500.00

The 2005 vintage of Tertre Roteboeuf is one of the most profound wines made by François Mitjavile.

Notes of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant and cherry) complemented by licorice and sweet spices. On the palate, it is a powerful wine, quite tannic but still supple and velvety.

It will be able to age for many years.

Château Tertre Roteboeuf is located in Saint-Laurent-des-Combes. The vineyard is located in the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation area.

Tertre Roteboeuf is owned by François Mitjavile, a well-known figure in Bordeaux area and also owner of Château Roc de Cambes, in Bourg. He signed his first vintage in 1987, after 10 years spent at Château Figeac as winemaker.

The vineyard, composed mainly of merlot, supplemented by cabernet franc, is exposed south / southeast and is composed of clay-limestone soils. The grapes are harvested at full maturity and the wine is then aged in new barrels for 2 or 3 years.

François Mitjavile has never wished to join the classification of Saint-Emilion.

The wines of Châtau Tertre Roteboeuf express the best of the terroir and the merlot. Opulent and tannic wines to be aged for many years.
