The Pavelot family, winegrowers for many generations, has a long history in Pernand-Vergelesses. Luc and his sister Lise take part of the seventh generation. They succeeded their parents Régis and Annie, preceded by Maurice and Gladie, and many other generations of Pavelots: Léon and Clémentine, Antoine and Ursule... Today, they work hard to develop the 10 hectares of the family's wine heritage.
Reclassified as 1er Cru in 2000, only for the Chardonnay, this vineyard deserves this classification because it benefits from an exceptional exposure, behind the village, at altitude, facing south and southwest.
The soil is thin and very stony, with a silty-clay structure on marl and limestone. This enviable exposure ensures a Chardonnay with a frank, powerful and generous minerality with a great ageing potential.
