Domaine Bruno Clair, Marsannay rouge "Charmes aux Prêtres" 2018 - 0,75L
The pinot noir vines are located at an altitude of 300 meters, on limestone soils.
30 to 50% of whole bunches are fermented. Maceration of 10 to 15 days in wooden vats. Aged for 20 months in oak barrels.
The nose reveals aromas of small fresh red fruits (strawberries, raspberries). On the palate, these small fruits are always present. Crisp and silky.
The Bruno Clair estate is located in Marsannay-la-Côte, in the Marsannay appellation, in the Burgundy vineyards. It was created in 1979 by Bruno Clair and was originally composed of a few parcels of Marsannay, Fixin, Savigny-les-Beaune and Morey-Saint-Denis.
Bruno Clair is no stranger to Burgundy as his father, Joseph Clair, is the creator of the famous Domaine Clair-Daü, also in Marsannay. The heirs of Joseph Clair were unable to reach an agreement and the estate was dismembered, but Bruno Clair was entrusted with a part of the vineyards by his family. Thanks to its fine wines, the Bruno Clair estate revives the spirit of the Clair-Daü estate.
The Clair family produces classic Burgundies, often lively and sharp; a few years of cellaring are essential for them. They are immediately recognizable by their purity and their beautiful persistence. The estate has developed the terroirs of Marsannay and Gevrey-Chambertin.
