At Le Clos Rougeard, the wines evolve and mature over time. The excellence, finesse and depth of these wines are obtained thanks to more than two years of maturation in barrels and several years in the center of the Tuffeau cellar, which is located at a depth of more than 7 meters. The 11 hectare vineyard is mainly composed of clay and limestone soils. Produced without the use of any chemical products, this estate presents the purest of grapes, which have been produced organically for eight generations.
Aged in new barrels for 30 months, this surprisingly smooth wine is reminiscent of Sauternes. Its intense color represents a very aromatic bouquet composed of notes of tangerine, almond paste and orange peel. Its fat, unctuous, generous and persistent texture ends with a great bitterness, promising a very good ageing potential.
