Domaine Danjou-Banessy's 2018 Espurna is a 100% Cinsault from a parcel with schist and quartz marl soils called "Les Terres Noires".
The unstalked grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for 2 to 4 years in barrels.
Espurna offers a remarkable bouquet of ripe fruit that has been well exposed to the sun with a touch of bitter cocoa. In the mouth, a beautiful concentration and a silky and velvety matter. A very beautiful wine which will be appreciated even better in a few years.
Brothers Benoît and Sébastien Danjou inherited from their grandfather a vineyard located in the commune of Espira de l'Agly, north of Perpignan in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Originally dedicated to the production of Rivesaltes, the 15-hectare estate is certified in Organic Agriculture and produces well-balanced and well-structured red and white wines, whose reputation continues to grow.
Native Roussillon grape varieties are vinified separately in order to magnify them. Each cuvée represents a parcel, a soil, a place, a way of working.
