Domaine du Pélican, Arbois, Poulsard 2018 - 0,75L
This Arbois du Domaine du Pelican is the only red wine of the estate. It comes from the old vines of the Jacques Puffeney estate, bought in 2015. Aged in a very large foudre for 10 months, it expresses a lot of vivacity and elegance.
On the nose, aromas of flowers, including crushed rose petals, mint and red fruits. In the mouth, power and complexity. A lot of generosity while remaining fresh and light.
Very nice gastronomic wine, typical of the Jura.
The Pelican estate belongs to Guillaume d'Angerville (Domaine Marquis d'Angerville in Burgundy) and François Duvivier, his manager. Guillaume fell in love with the region and the wines of the Jura and created this domain in the early 2000s. Part of the vineyard comes from the purchase of the old vines of the mythical Jacques Puffeney, a historical figure in Arbois viticulture.
The philosophy of the Domaine du Pélican is the same as that of the Domaine Marquis d'Angerville. The vines are cultivated biodynamically and the wines are perfectly representative of their terroir.
