Château de Beaucastel, Roussanne Vieilles Vignes 2018, Châteauneuf-du-Pape - 0,75L
This wine is considered one of the greatest whites of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is made from old Roussanne vines from 3 parcels planted at the beginning of the 20th century. The grapes are harvested a little late. Without being heavy, this wine has a remarkable fullness in the mouth. The finish is saline and refreshing. Robert Parker said about this wine that it was the "Montrachet of the Rhone".
It has the potential to age in the cellar for a decade.
Château de Beaucastel has belonged to the Perrin family since the beginning of the 20th century. Today, Jacques' sons, François and Jean-Pierre Perrin, are at the head of the estate. They strive to perpetuate the work undertaken since the beginning. The 100-hectare vineyard has been cultivated organically since 1950 and biodynamically since 1974.
The wines of Beaucastel are recognized worldwide for their elegance, their capacity for aging and their balance.
