Lucien et André Brunel, Les Cailloux, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cuvée Centenaire 1990 - 0,75L
Les Cailloux is the most beautiful plot of the Domaine Lucien et André Brunel. The soils are composed of clay and the vines benefit from an optimal sunshine and a lot of mistral. The vines are on average 125 years old!
This cuvée is only made in the best vintages. The 1990 vintage is an explosion of ripe red fruits with notes of leather. Beautiful roundness in mouth, the tannins are well melted.
A great wine !
André Brunel (deceased February 2022) is an important figure in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. He inherited the estate from his father when he was 22 years old and built its reputation.
The Brunel family estate is one of the oldest in the appellation, with origins dating back to the 18th century. It covers 21 hectares.
The name "Les Cailloux" comes from the pebbles, typical of Châteauneuf.
Fabrice is now at the head of the estate. He produces fine and delicate wines that are sold out in France and abroad.
