The Ruhlmann-Schutz family has been established in the village of Dambach-la-ville, on the wine route between Strasbourg and Colmar, since 1688. It is in the 1960's that the culture of the vine is initiated in the domain, thanks to Jean-Charles and Marthe Ruhlmann.
Over the years, the vineyard has grown from 7 hectares in 1995 to 20 hectares in 2005. Today, the vineyard covers 70 hectares, of which 40 hectares are in Alsace and 3.5 hectares in Alsace Grand Cru. The environmental initiatives are multiplying: the whole vineyard is certified H.V.E Level 3 and is in conversion to organic farming.
