Domaine Weinbach, Alsace Gewurztraminer "les Treilles Du Loup" 2020 - 0,75L
After a manual harvest and careful sorting of the grapes, the grapes are gently pressed to extract the juice, which is then vinified with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation takes place at low temperature to preserve the purity and aromatic complexity of the grapes.
The Gewurztraminer "Les Treilles du Loup" 2020 is distinguished by its intense aromas of flowers, lychee and spices, typical of the Gewurztraminer grape. On the palate, the wine is elegant and balanced, with a lively acidity and a slightly oily texture characteristic of Gewurztraminer. The wine can be enjoyed now, but it also has the potential to be kept for several years.
The Domaine Weinbach ("wine stream" in German), was founded in 1612 by the Capuchin monks. It was bought by the Faller family in 1898. The brothers Theodore and Jean-Baptiste Faller, the famous "Faller Frères" worked to transform this property into a renowned wine estate but it was Theo, son of Theodore, who really made the estate emerge.
After the death of Theo Faller in 1979, his wife, Colette, and daughters, Catherine and Laurence, took over the 27-hectare estate, including the prestigious Grands Crus Schlossberg and Furstentum. The vineyard is cultivated according to biodynamic principles since 2005.
Catherine Faller and her sons Theo and Eddy are now at the head of the domain, they are working hard to make the wines of Domaine Weinbach the most sought after in the region.
It is a successful bet. Domaine Weinbach produces aromatic, elegant and complex white wines. The wines are made with great attention to detail, using both traditional and modern winemaking techniques to preserve the purity and aromatic complexity of the grapes. The end result is a range of exceptional wines, perfectly reflecting the unique terroir of Alsace and the expertise of the Faller family.
