Domaines Chermette, Beaujolais, Les Griottes 2021 - 0,75L
Made from Gamay vines less than 30 years old, this cuvée develops the freshness of red fruits. It is called Griottes because of its aromas but also because the bottom of the vines is bordered by cherry trees.
The traditional Beaujolais vinification is used: semi-carbonic maceration with two pumpings per day.
Griottes is a typical red Beaujolais: fruity, fresh, easy to drink, crisp with a tangy side of fresh red fruits: Morello cherry, raspberry, strawberry. The convivial wine par excellence!
It goes well with a wide variety of circumstances and dishes. It is perfect for barbecues for example.
The Chermette family estate is located in the hamlet of Le Vissoux in Saint-Vérand, in the south of the Beaujolais region. The vineyard of 9 hectares on granitic soils, has a south-western exposure, ideal for the grapes to reach a good maturity.
Pierre-Marie Chermette took over the family estate in 1982, when he was 22 years old. As soon as he arrived, he decided to stop selling to the trade and to bottle and market his own wines. He fully invests himself to offer quality wines.
In 1987, Pierre-Marie and his wife Martine launched a non chaptalized Beaujolais Primeur produced from the Vieilles Vignes plots. This cuvée was a great success in Parisian bars. In 1994, they expanded the estate by buying vines in Fleurie, Poncié and Moulin-à-Vent Rochegrès.
Today, the range of Domaines Chermette is diversified: white, rosé and red Beaujolais, Brouilly, Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, Saint-Amour, Crémant de Bourgogne, artisanal blackcurrant and ginger crème de pêche de vigne, etc.
Martine, Pierre-Marie and Jean-Etienne (their son), Chermette are fully committed to offering authentic terroir wines of the highest quality.
